Memory House
Installation at Gregg Museum of Art, NC State University, Jan - May 2007

Statement from Installation:
'Memory House' was built to house a collection from the natural world . It is a revealing structure, it's contents are shadows on translucent silk walls. The branches within are in disarray, and as you traverse the exterior, their shadows shift, creating new configurations.

The juxtaposition of these elements: translucency, shadow, light, texture, branches with the iconic house form, seeks to explore the tensions and poetry between opposing states of preservation and passing, of solidity and transience. The translucency and fragility of the house structure is reminiscent of the temporal nature of dwellings. How the contents of a house or even a conceptual structure are continually in flux.
