This time of year it seems as though form in the landscape is revealed. Stalks, vines, and dried flower heads become linear elements, and remnants of the past year of growth. In the piece, Memory’s Reconstruction, I collected dried plants from the winter landscape and coated them in a plaster mixture. They are suspended from a cloth ceiling and cast their shadows on the walls. In the attempt to reconstruct a place, landscape becomes internalized and frozen in time. It exists in a physical space where moments and impressions can be projected on the remains of place.
