What remains...
I am drawn to the ways that memory resides in spaces, especially within landscapes. In my installations and works made of paper pulp, I use natural materials and observed textures to shape narratives about place. As I reflect on the passage of time on my environment, I try to capture how the shifting dynamics of light, color and seasonal dormancy impact these places. In this body of work, both paper pulp and built structure serve as containers for the natural world; and seek to explore the tensions and poetry between opposing states of preservation and passing. What remains as a season passes, to sustain and inspire new growth?
